What is coaching?
Coaching is a method of supporting the personal and professional growth of individuals, teams and groups. Along with therapies, it is one of the most effective and widely used methods supporting human growth, helping people make life changes and achieve their short-term and long-term goals. It is a partnership in which the client's thoughts are provoked to find new perspectives and solutions and thus to maximize his personal and work potential. It is a process during which, with the help of a coach, the client creates visions and goals in various areas of his life, develops strategies to achieve them and walks the path to their fulfillment.
Unlike therapy, coaching focuses on the present and the future, not the past, and is more solution-oriented than problem-oriented. The coach does not give the client answers and solutions to his questions, but creates a supportive environment in which the client can open himself up to new possibilities, creative thinking and searching for his own solutions and answers. With the help of coaching questions, he reveals to the client unconventional views of places where the client would not look for answers on his own, and together with the client, he removes obstacles from his path to the dream life. With his skills, he mobilizes the client's courage, his inner resources and motivation to change and thus helps him initiate the changes necessary for his overall growth.
Coaching brings breakthrough and transformational changes that improve the client's self-perception, work results, attitude to life, relationship skills and overall well-being.
What is somatic coaching?
Somatic coaching is a holistic approach using, in addition to conventional coaching techniques, coaching techniques focused on the body and emotions. He perceives the human personality as an interconnected whole of body-mind-emotions and believes that achieving change requires, in addition to a well-thought-out strategy, physical action and internal motivation.
Where classic coaching deals with content communicated through speech, somatic coaching uses knowledge from working with the body and, in addition to verbal expression, also takes into account information coming from the body and emotions. In addition to working with the body, he also uses artistic and projective methods bypassing the barriers of the client's view of available resources and solutions, and finds answers to the client's questions in the deeper levels of his consciousness. One of the possibilities of somatic coaching is outdoor coaching, where the client can explore his inner world through an adventurous exploration of the outdoor environment.
While traditional coaching involves primarily an intellectual component in the process, somatic coaching involves the whole personality in the process. During the achievement of the client's life goals, in addition to conversation, he also uses techniques working with the body, breath, voice, space or object and makes sure that the client's goal is covered on all levels of his personality. Through holistic work, somatic coaching creates experiences that ensure complex and long-term sustainable growth and contribute to the overall and long-term happiness of the client.
